The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Department disclosed that Bobbie Jean Carter’s death resulted from “intoxication by the combined effects of fentanyl and methamphetamine,” classifying it as accidental. The document detailed that Bobbie Jean was last seen by her roommate at approximately 6:30 a.m. on the day of her demise.
Found unresponsive on her bathroom floor a mere thirty minutes later, in a situation similar to her brother, Aaron Carter’s death, she was urgently taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa, where she entered cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead by 8:02 a.m. The report also highlights Carter’s struggle with schizophrenia, a diagnosis which her mother, Jane Carter, confirmed.

Prescribed medications found in Bobbie Jean’s system included propranolol, omeprazole, clindamycin, and quetiapin. Her passing follows the deaths of her siblings, Aaron in November 2022 and Leslie Carter in 2012. Authorities reported no signs of foul play or narcotics at the scene.
Amid these sorrowful circumstances, Nick Carter expressed his heartbreak over his sister’s passing on Instagram with a photo of them as children, seeking comfort in the belief that she is “finally at peace with God.” He also expressed gratitude towards his fans for their support during this challenging time.
Bobbie Jean’s legal and substance abuse struggles, including a recent arrest for retail theft and possession of fentanyl, have been documented. Her life, once intertwined with the entertainment industry through her roles as a wardrobe stylist and makeup artist for her brother Aaron and her appearance on the reality TV show “House of Carters,” ended far from the public eye she once knew. Bobbie Jean is survived by her young daughter, Bella, and her siblings, Nick and Angel.
