- Susan’s youngest child is in his early thirties and is taller than her. He described himself as an unconventional man.
Susan Sarandon has three children who followed in her footsteps by pursuing Hollywood careers. She has candidly talked about motherhood and her last born, who experiments with cross-dressing.
Susan has one daughter and two sons from two relationships. She welcomed her eldest child, Eva Amurri, 38, with Italian film director Franco Amurri in March 1985.
The BAFTA Award-winning actress became a mom for the second time when she had her eldest son,Ā Jack Robbins, 34, with actorĀ Tim RobbinsĀ in May 1989. Their youngest son, Miles Robbins, 31, was born three years later in May 1992.
The mother of three revealed in a televised interview on the now-defunct chat show, “Anderson Live,” hosted by broadcaster Anderson Cooper, that she raised her children in New York City.

For Susan, the Big Apple was a much better place to raise her kids than Los Angeles. “I think living in New York is really helpful because you’re with everybody. You’re not isolated,” sheĀ explained.
The doting parent further said that the kids took the train, used the subway, and attended schools where they met people from all walks of life.

SusanĀ admittedĀ it was “easier” raising her children in her home city, unlike LA, where they would have grown up in a gated community where “there’s such a big fuss about everything.”
The red-hairedĀ saidĀ the most valuable thing she gave her sons and daughter, besides access to education, was “flexibility and adaptability, making them more open to people’s differences.”

Today,Ā Susan’sĀ kids are adults who have also pursued showbiz careers. Like her Academy Award-winning mom, Eva is alsoĀ an actressĀ and has appeared in “Dead Man Walking” (1995) and “Earthly Possessions” (1999).
Meanwhile, Jack is aĀ writer and directorĀ known for the hit television show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” (2003) and the film “Alex” (2019). As for Miles, he is aĀ musician and an actor. He studied documentary film and music production at Brown University but left before graduating.
In a June 2015 interview,Ā SusanĀ divulged more about her youngest child, Miles, revealing that he cross-dresses from time to time. The LGBTQ advocateĀ saidĀ of parenting, āAs a mother, I know how difficult it is to survive the teenage years intact and the socialization process ā if you step out of line, itās so difficult.ā
The six-time Primetime Emmy Award nominee, who admitted that she was happy to witness the “fluidity of gender” nowadays, said her kids see beyond gender stereotypes. “My son Miles is a musician and a DJ, and sometimes when his band performs, they all wear dresses, and he has long hair,” sheĀ added.

In a written piece for the HuffPost in June 2016, Miles, who was a contributor to the outlet at the time, touched on the cross-dressing subject in reference to the comment his mother made. He said it was “strange” that the topic made headlines in several other media outlets and rhetoricallyĀ asked, “Is it really that strange for a guy to wear a dress?”
Miles further stated that wearing dresses is nothing new because many people, especially fellow musicians, have done so before he even did it. He explained that he wears dresses when performing and when attending fancy events because he does not like “neckties.” “I wear dresses to embrace femininity (adjective) but not to re-assign my gender to female (noun),” heĀ added.
Miles finds it absurd that people would assume that when a man wears a dress, and a woman wears pants, they are automatically part of the LGBTQ community.
The New Yorker expressed empathy for members of the transgender community, saying it must be difficult for them to be open about their sexual orientation, especially in today’s day and age, where it is hard for others to forgive, coupled with the world of cyberbullying.
Miles wishes that a person’s gender should not have been assigned on public documents such as passports and driver’s licenses because he believes such instances put pressure on transgender individuals.
The “Let It Snow” star admitted he was offended after a former colleague forwarded the articles about him crossing-dressing. He feels that he does not owe anyone an explanation about his gender identity because he does not have a gender identity struggle.
Moreover, Miles admitted that he is not a typical heterosexual man who enjoys watching football. Instead, he is more drawn to activities more appreciated by the opposite sex, such as cooking and baking.
The “Halloween” star, who also divulged that he could sew, likes listening to singer-songwriter and actress Joanna Newson and has binge-watched the VH1 reality television show “Daisy of Love” about six times. Still, to his friends’ surprise, he happens to enjoy hockey.
Miles also freely discussed his sex life, revealing that when it comes to his sexuality, he has never slept with a man but has kissed a handful of them. He made it clear that he finds women sexually attractive, likewise admitting that he once had a strong connection to a male onscreen character of special agent Dale Cooper from “Twin Peaks.”
Still, Miles insisted that it does not necessarily mean that he identifies as LGBTQ. He is merely allowing himself to be who he is and show interest in the things that interest him.
That includes his hair, which he had grown out over the years. When Miles attended the premiere of “My Friend Dahmer” at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2017, he sported his dark mane, which he had parted in the middle.
However, by August 2023, the movie star seemed to haveĀ cut off his hair, as he now has short hair. He shared a picture of himself on Instagram with his new look.
That same month, Miles was spotted posing with his famous mother at the SAG-AFTRA picket line in NY and could be seen towering over her as they held placards.
