How Hollywood responded to Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in hush-money case

Following Donald Trump’s guilty verdict in his high-profile hush-money case, the whole of the United States is talking about what happens next.

On Thursday – after a widely-reported six-week trial – a 12-person jury in New York found 77-year-old Donald Trump guilty on all 34 felony counts against him in the hush money scandal.

The ruling meant that – not only was Trump the very first president in US history to be criminally tried – but he is also the first former president to ever be convicted of felony crimes.

Trump faced charges of business fraud linked to hush-money payments made to former adult star Stormy Daniels.

The former POTUS responded to the verdict by calling the result “rigged” and “disgraceful”.

With the upcoming US presidential election – and the fact that more and more celebrities are throwing their hats in the political world these days – here are the biggest responses to Trump’s guilty verdict from Hollywood.

Meanwhile, the Biden-Harris campaign has also shared a statement following the verdict, stating that “nobody is above the law”.

“There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box. Convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for president,” the statement continued.

“The threat Trump poses to our democracy has never been greater. He is running an increasingly unhinged campaign of revenge and retribution, pledging to be a dictator ā€˜on day oneā€™ and calling for our Constitution to be ā€˜terminatedā€™ so he can regain and keep power

“A second Trump term means chaos, ripping away Americansā€™ freedoms and fomenting political violence ā€“ and the American people will reject it this November.”
